From a Cold Call to an ₩80 Billion SMA Deal – Capturing Client Needs
In June 2025, Koramco Asset Trust signed an SMA (Separately Managed Account) agreement worth up to ₩80 billion with Fursys, a leading office furniture company.
An SMA is similar to a blind fund but structured as a customized investment mandate tailored to the specific needs of investors.
Assistant Manager Park initiated the partnership through a cold call, spending over six months persuading Fursys to collaborate. The success was driven by Koramco’s expertise in office asset management and a shared belief in the business synergy between Koramco’s real estate capabilities and Fursys’s B2B interior and furniture business.
Currently, the two companies are jointly reviewing initial value-add projects located in Seoul’s CBD and GBD areas, with plans to develop a scalable and differentiated business model that goes beyond investment returns through continued cooperation.
